Sinus Lift Procedure in Plantation - Sinus Lift Procedure Florida

A sinus-lift procedure is a surgical procedure performed to augment bone mass in the top jaw to increase the likelihood of a successful dental implants. Bone from another part of the body, is grafted in the bone below the floor of the sinus. In the upper jaw the amount of bone is reduced by the presence of the sinus. A number of techniques are used to increase the bone height which may include onlay grafts, inter-positional grafts, inlay grafts or sinus-lift and graft.

If a bone graft is placed to increase the height or width of a ridge to restore lost bone dimension the bone graft material can be placed and allowed to grow before placing the implant. This may be as a result of the ridge becoming too thin to place a dental implant.

From time to time there may be additional grafting needed in this area for the lower jaw placement of implants as well. This may involve nerve repositioning which is extremely aggressive and would not be performed unless all other options were exhausted first.

Sinus Lift procedures are typically done under intravenous sedation and does not require a hospital operating room.
