WISDOM TEETH PERIOCORONITIS
What is periocoronitis? Periocoronitis occurs when the tissue around the wisdom tooth is infected. Symptoms of periocoronitis usually appear when there is a partially erupted wisdom tooth and when the tooth is coming out. There is redness, tenderness, soreness, throbbing pain, a foul smell and taste, and limited jaw opening due to swelling. There are several ways to treat periocoronitis. If pus is present, it should be drained. Maintaining great oral hygiene, having the wisdom tooth extracted, taking pain relieving medication and antibiotics could help treat this condition.
